COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA TO PRESENT "PERSONS OF INTEREST"   

The Olathe Community Orchestra winds up its 2008-2009 concert season with a program of music depicting persons both real and imaginary.  The free concert, "Persons of Interest," is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the orchestra's home in the Osborne Performing Arts Center, 311 E. Park in downtown Olathe, and will include a complimentary punch-and-cookies reception at intermission.

Selections on the program include Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, Rossini's La Cenerentola (Cinderella) Overture, the Meditation from Thais by Massenet, and the Leonore Overture No. 3 of Beethoven.  A further and most significant "person of interest" to be featured on the concert is the yet-to-be-named winner of the OCO's High School Concerto Competition.

BRIAN STEELE TO JOIN OCO FOR BEETHOVEN’S NINTH

Noted Olathe vocalist Brian Steele, along with special guest soloists Katie Goyer, Laure Ronnebaum, and Paul Hartfield, and a guest chorus, will join with the Olathe Community Orchestra for a landmark performance of the iconic Ninth Symphony by Beethoven.  This most-revered work by the great Romantic master will be performed at Grace United Methodist Church, 11485 S.
